Jared Halpin. Hello! That's me. I program for a living and for the love of the game, making the interfaces between human and machine work for the human rather than vice versa. I also ride bikes, work with wood, and volunteer at my local tool library and other community organizations to encourage sustainable & responsible lifestyles. I'm encouraging you right now!
Who are you, to be be reading this blurb, at this corner of the internet, at this hour? No really, I'm curious - say hi!
My personal corner of the "smol web", a tiny alcove I tend to like a small digital garden. Maybe I'll post some pictures, grow some mint, or even post a program or two I've been tinkering on!
This is first and foremost a collection of digital work that I can access from anywhere, and modify as I see fit. The beauty of a personal website is that it can be whatever you want - you should make one two, it's easy and fun! p.s. I actually use codeberg pages but guess what, you can use whatever sounds nice!
Why get a domain? So I can have custom email addresses. Why make site? Same reason anyone uses the web, to scream into the void, and at other people. If I want the internet to be for people, I should be out here, making it for a person (myself), and hopefully for others. It's also a joy to be able to share things with friends, family, and strangers, that's not an instagram page but rather something I can craft, contextualize, and personalize.
All of this and more at https://www.jahal.site. Get a domain, they're cheap and fun.
Physically, I'm located in UTC-7, also known as Pacific Standard Time. On the internet, location shouldn't matter unless you are trying to grab lunch or something, in which case just shoot me an email.
More or less around
