SIGIL

I found a little tool by the lovely folks over at Hundred Rabbits studio called Dotgrid. I quickly became enamored with simple SVG graphics & animations - I liked Dotgrid so much that I tried making my own version of it - imitation is the sincerest form of flattery after all.

I named it Sigil, with the intention of it begin a tool to make small symbols or logos for projects down the line. At the time I was watching Severance, and aimed for that aesthetic. Dotgrid is generally more useful, but one key feature I wanted to implement was the ability to make a variable sized canvas, which I am happy to say works a charm. Haven't been able to reach feature parity, but it does what I want that that's enough for now. I hope to revisit it in the future, but feel free to take it for a spin, and make a sigil of your own!

Technically speaking, there's nothing too impressive about it- just some simple Javascript classes on top of the canvas library. It was rather nice to work in vanilla javascript, since my dayjob is mostly in one of the big frameworks, but it did make me miss a robust typing system.
